I suppose that all series of events must have an activation, a moment when they come to life, a genesis, if you will. This is my first Podcast. It may very well be my last, but I highly doubt it.
That said, today's podcast is primarily the first reading of my short story, Uncle Julius, which will be published for the first time in Dragon Moon Press' Podthology: The Pod Complex. The story is about a Vietnam vet who discovers an audience on the internet for his own stories and theories. There are almost no sound effects except for the sound of summer in the background. There's no cast of actors doing the roles. As a matter of fact, you're stuck with me reading it and as I will prove, not all authors make great readers.
Don't despair if you hear the mistakes of a newbie --- just make suggestions and cross your fingers that I listen. I usually do. Listen, that is. I also usually make mistakes. It's why I'm always learning. This will be the longest story reading for the poscasts. Future posts will have excerpts from some of my live performances of both my comedy and my poetry --- quicker, lighter and, in most cases, naughtier.
Since I have no idea if I've done any of the technical stuff correctly, I'm going to stop wasting time on the Post and get right down to uploading the sound of my Pod-Cherry popping.
